Student Resources
Whether you are beginning your academic journey or preparing for a career in management, here are principles and practices I share with my students at SCSU.
Six Things I Tell Every Student
The students who grow the most are not always those with the highest GPA — they are the ones who ask "why" and "what if" in every class.
Every concept we study — motivation, leadership, CSR — shows up in your daily interactions. Practice spotting it in real time.
The discipline of writing forces you to clarify your reasoning. Keep a reflection journal. Your ideas will sharpen quickly.
Come with a question, a paper draft, or just curiosity. The conversation you have there often matters more than the lecture.
Group work is frustrating by design. Learning to navigate different working styles is one of the most transferable skills you will develop.
You do not need a PhD to engage with research. Reading one empirical paper a month will change how you see the world of work.
